I can’t explain how much I loved this book.  I kept telling my husband and my friend how great it was, to find a character that could some up my personality.  I’ve tried so many times and here comes Savannah and she explains who I am.  Taylor Dean, the author, has a beautiful way with words.  I devoured this book. Reading passages and highlighting so many things that she wrote and hit spot on.  This has been my favorite Power of the Matchmaker books by far.

Four Chambers: Power of the Matchmaker

Buy: Four Chambers: Power of Matchmaker

Andra Stone can’t deny the attraction or the feelings she has for Everett Covington.  However, Everett is not in her plans for becoming a pediatric heart surgeon and she knows that she must choose between her dreams or her heart, and right now it’s not her heart that she is worried about fixing.  With only four chambers of the heart and four areas of her life, she must make a decision soon or she’ll lose the most important person in her life.  She only has one chamber left.  Four Chambers: Power of the Matchmaker series finds Pearl helping another stubborn head strong couple make the most important decision of their lives.  Fortunately, Pearl is just as stubborn and patient.  She’s willing to step in and prod the couple along.

I did enjoy Four Chambers; it was quite interesting reading it in the four different sections. Each section a different time in Andra’s life and each part Everett comes in and out of the story, ready to show her he still loves her.  Some of the characters were very strong willed and actually made you laugh out loud at their beliefs, but it gave the story a little more depth and gave Andra and Everett a bond that no others would understand.  This helped them to lean on each other for support. Everett never game up on Andra and you couldn’t help but understand Andra’s desire to succeed.  Thank you Julie Wright for an entertaining story and a get away from reality.

Fresh Starts: Bree’s Story; A Companion to the Sweet Montana Bride Series (Second Chances Book 3)

Buy: Fresh Starts: Bree’s Story

Bree has been able to live a few short years free of fear from her crazy stalker as he sits in his jail cell.  However, his time has come to an end and he’s about to be released.  In order to protect her and her family, her brother has hired a private body guard aka Greyson Law.  Heading to Oregon to care for an apple orchard under the disguise of a married couple, Greyson and Bree find that the chemistry is pretty strong from the get go.  It helps that Greyson has had a crush on Bree since they were kids and now Greyson just has to convince her that he’s not the jock from high school that she remembers.

Kimberly Krey does an amazing job writing a story that has characters that anybody can relate to.  As with her other books, the characters are developed and the story line moves quickly.  It seems every time I open one of her books I set it down thinking, “Wow, now that was my favorite one!” Each one is just as good as the one before.  I love that her books can be read by themselves, but they are also all interconnected with characters from each of the series.

I love these Timeless Regency Collections. They are able to capture an amazing story in a short amount of time.  I feel the authors are always chosen wisely and I continue to look forward to reading each one that I’ve come across.  The regency period has always been my favorite, and these collections never disappoint.  I especially loved the letters that were shared in An Invisible Heiress, it’s been a long time since I’ve read a story written that way, and I loved it.

I have always loved Michele Paige Holmes writing, but this book (I feel I say this with all of her writing) is my favorite!  I love fairy tales and this one mixes them all up into a great suspenseful read.  A mixture of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Bean Stalk and I feel even some Snow White is present in this book.  Michele is a magician when it comes to making words come alive and jump off the pages.  I definitely will be looking forward to the next book in the series.

Miss Match (No Match for Love Book 1)

Buy from Amazon: Miss Match

Turning to alcohol to numb his pain and turning to all the wrong women to ease the emptiness in his heart, Luke tries really hard to get over the real problem that he has been dealing with for the last 8 years: Brooke.  His best friend Brooke is getting married to the perfect Italian and everyday it breaks his heart.  Brooke is so adamant about keeping their status as friends in tact that she’s written up a list of rules to keep Luke in the “friend” zone.  But things are starting to crumble in Brooke’s world.

Having an unfaithful father has left its mark on her and Brooke refuses to ever trust a player like Luke.  She needs someone like her fiancé in her life, strong and dependable.  However, when news hits that her dream job is about to be taken away she knows she must stand and make a fight.  Brooke is the top matchmaker at Toujour, but the numbers have been bleak for months and it’s time to turn them around or the company would fold.  The only solution is to bring in a high profile figure, and who better could that be that the rich, good looking bachelor, Luke Ryder.  Luke goes through the motions to help the love of his life succeed, but his true feelings are about to shine through and it’s time for his to stand up and fight for her and it’s time that Brooke knows his true feelings.  Sometimes the best thing we have is standing right in front of us and we just don’t know it.  Brooke must learn to let go of her fears and learn that she may be putting her love and trust in the wrong man.

I loved reading Miss Match.  It was great to watch a man fight so hard for the woman he loves, stumbling along the way because he is human, but not letting it slow him down.  The dialogue flowed easily and the story never slowed down.   Brooke and Luke were endearing and you couldn’t help but want to reach and grab Brooke and ask, “What are you doing?”  I like when the author has created such a great story that I can’t help but get captivated by the characters and I forget that I’m not in reality while I’m reading.   I love getting swept away into the fiction world of a sweet endearing romance.

Darkness Undone (Warlords of Empyrea 1)

A Midwinter Ball (Timeless Regency Collection Book 2)

Buy from Amazon: A Midwinter Ball

Another Timeless Regency Collection, have you caught a theme yet? I LOVE anthologies and I LOVE regency romances!

MUCH ADO ABOUT DANCING by Heidi Ashworth

Miss Analisa Lloyd-Jones may as well have the plague for as much attention as the men give her.  She sits as a constant wall flower at the dances, she’s become the running joke among the ladies, and men don’t even give her a second glance when in the same room as her.  Her plague comes with a name: Lord Northrup.  Lord Northrup has made it clear that while he is abroad traveling that Analisa is his, no man with any brains will touch her while he is away.  When he shows up unexpectedly at a party, Analisa is confused and angry.  Time may not have changed him and she’s not ready to give him a chance to prove his adoration.

SWEETER THAN ANY DREAM by Annette Lyon

Olivia Wallington lives with her sharp tongued mother and aunt, forced to endure hurtful jibes and withering glares.  Destined to live out her spinster life living in daydreams and quietly enduring the two strong women in her life, Olivia has all but given up hope.  When her brother comes home with his new wife and a promise to sneak her out of the house to enjoy a ball, Olivia feels that she may have a chance to build a new and everlasting memory to get her through the rest of her years.

AN INVITATION TO DANCE by Michele Paige Holmes

Living quietly alone in her home while her father travels and her dear mother has passed away, Lady Ella spends her days outdoors riding horses and enjoying the more unladylike activities.  When a stranger shows up on her doorstep with a request from her dead fiancé asking for her to join him in London, her curiosity is more than peaked.  Packing up her meager belongings, Ella makes the trip to London only to find that the rules of stuffy society are not what she enjoys.  With the help of Alex Darling, she learns that there are ways to have fun and escape the ton.

These are sweet regency romance novellas.  My favorite would be An Invitation to Dance by Michele Paige Holmes, and my least favorite would be Heidi Ashworth’s Much Ado About Dancing. I found the latter dragged and I couldn’t get into the characters or the dialogue.  I enjoyed Michele Page Holmes’ tale because the Tomboy, Ella, reminded me of myself and I found myself with a smile as I read her plight.  I do enjoy anthologies, they always give you a taste of a new author if you are not familiar with them and you get a chance to read more of the authors that you have come to love.
